What it Means to be NORMAL

image.jpg

Sometimes I just feel out of this world, kinda.

“Why can't I just eat like everyone else? Why am I so sensitive to everything around me? Why is my body so broken? I just want to be 'normal' was my rhetoric for years.

But then I thought..

Do you really want to be “normal” though Jen?

Do you really want to be like everyone else in a society that sets us up for anything but success in our health for body, mind, & spirit?

Normal is: eat the food pyramid, think these fear driven thoughts the media gives you, believe in this religion, and definitely DEFINITELY do not think for yourself. Instead of this, I want to be transformed by the renewing of my mind daily.

What if you’re actually not broken? What if your sensitivity is a gift? What if you can’t eat, think, and live like the rest of the world because your body is actually not betraying you instead..

YOUR BODY IS PROTECTING YOUR GIFT

It is a gift to be so in tune with the food you eat, air your breathe, and the energies of people you interact with. When this gift is not being honored of course the body will react and manifest symptoms of autoimmunity or chronic inflammation.

Is this a barrier or a BLESSING?

Some are more sensitive to life, people, food, chemicals, emotions (not only theirs but the collective too). Their empathic gift is not strengthened in a world of sugar, loose boundaries, convenience food, and stress. I used to hate this about myself, but now I love it, this gift is what has made me into an incredible energy healer.

Here’s what I know to be true:

  • When we change the way we look at things the things we look at change.

  • When we begin to see our chronic conditions as an invitation to step into higher divine alignment, healing suddenly gets easier ya know?

What is N O R M A L?

  • Normal isn’t eating food so far from what our bodies can recognize as pure nutrients.

  • Normal isn’t watching hours of television per week (sorry Netflix).

  • Normal isn’t take this pill to fix this symptom.

Normal means to live in this world but not like the world. Our bodies have been telling us this for decades, “I don’t want to live like society”…

Every single time I ask a client what do you think would make your body feel better without a beat they say: living foods, nutrient dense diet, time in nature, and solace. Less crap food, less media intake, and less of a hectic schedule.

We don’t have the option to live anywhere else other than this earth but we do have the option to change our reality of how we live our lives out on this planet. I want to nourish my body, mind, and soul here on earth. Rather than medicate, numb, and distract them.

Jesus instilled this into the minds of his followers (John 15:19) and it could not ring more true to our world today.. We can live in but not of this world! We might not fit in like we used to but oh will we experience a whole new world!

The disease of modern day is the body response to modern society.

Here’s a hard truth-

  • What is good for our bodies & our souls is not the norm; is not the culture.

  • We are given the option to succumb to the norm or fight for our best with our truth.

  • Culture says breakfast is a cup of coffee with cream & sugar bagel.

  • What that does to your body is early morning  inflammation and afternoon adrenal fatigue.

Sure, your alternative is not normal, easy, nor convenient.

That’s what makes it hard!

Once it becomes your norm it gets better..

And you feel BETTER.

If we live in this world and be like the world we will never be able to have a clean bill of health! If we live in the way society produces people to live we will always feel depressed, disconnected, & anxious because of what we consume with our bodies, minds, and our spirits.

HEAR ME OUT

  • We can still go to the sports bar to watch a game and order a fresh salad with a baked potato instead of beer and fried wings.

  • We can still dance to the explicit rap songs at the gym & then go home to blare worship that lights our souls on fire.

  • We can still be informed of world news but choose to fill our minds with an inspiring podcast on our commute to work.

  • We can still be a couch potato on Saturday, after we’ve got up and moved our bodies in a workout that same morning.

  • We can love and be friends with anyone regardless of beliefs & also stay true to our own path and faith.

Let me ask you again? Do you really want to be NORMAL?

When I finally stopped fighting against my body and worked with her I realized she was trying to gift me with a better bill of health and a better quality of LIFE I could ever have dreamed of living. Seriously y’all, I feel like I’m living my dream life every day on the other side of autoimmune disease! This can be you too!!

This reality only came to fruition when I dropped the thought that I ever wanted to be normal again.

What does it mean to be normal to you now?

What’s your out of the ordinary habit that helps make you successful and able to show up in your life in an incredible way?
